Trials

Tournaments where your league plays the same arena and competes for the best wave.

Trials are special runs with modifiers that change the rules. Your normal progression stays untouched while you chase trial-specific rewards.

How trials work

  • Join with a best wave of 150.
  • You play in a group of up to 10 in your league, and your best attempt counts.
  • Players with the same best wave share the place and get the same rewards and League Points; the next place is skipped.
  • There are six leagues, from Adept to Eternal; your final place earns League Points that move you between leagues.
  • Each event is played in one arena: Iron Storm, Blood Moon, Ash Forge or Poison Marsh.
  • Rewards: Aether and diamonds for your place, plus diamonds for taking part.
  • The first attempt in an event is free; each further one costs diamonds (10, 20, 40, 80, 160, then 250).
  • Trials need an internet connection; switching apps pauses the fight.

The four arenas

  • Every attempt starts at wave 1 and starting-wave bonuses do not apply; your score is the wave you reach
  • Iron Storm: lightning strikes the arena. Later waves add enemy armor and shots that slow your attacks, and bosses break your shield
  • Blood Moon: enemies hit harder when your health is low. Later waves weaken your healing, and in the end living enemies drain your health - Drain Resist and drain-to-shield effects protect you
  • Ash Forge: embers fall on the arena. Later waves armor enemies against your first hit, give them more HP and harder hits, and make bosses attack faster
  • Poison Marsh: poison hurts you from wave 1, bypasses shields (Shield Overcharge absorbs it first) and ignores part of your Poison Resist, and grows stronger when enemies die
  • New modifiers join at waves 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50, and bosses gain theirs at waves 100, 200, 300 and 400

Leagues and League Points

  • The six leagues, in order: Adept, Challenger, Champion, Conqueror, Sovereign, Eternal. You enter each at 0 / 100 / 250 / 450 / 700 / 1,000 League Points
  • Places in a full group of 10 give +25, +15, +10, +5, 0, 0, -5, -10, -20 and -20 League Points
  • Groups of 5 to 9 give +10 to the top half and -10 to the bottom half; with fewer than 5 players there are no League Points and no placement diamonds
  • League Points never fall below 0, and Adept never loses points; skipping an event leaves your points as they are
  • Higher leagues start the arena at a harder reference world and pay more Aether

Attempts and payout

  • Results, rewards and League Points are paid about 3 hours after the event ends
  • Placement pays Aether, and diamonds in groups of 5 or more; everyone who posts a wave also gets diamonds for taking part
  • Arena Seals are the temporary currency of one attempt - they reset with each attempt, while Aether is kept for good
  • Leaving to the menu ends the attempt; switching apps or locking the phone only pauses the fight

Event-driven builds (jewelry procs, on-kill effects) shine in trials - see the Jewelry article.
