Awakening Requirements
What each Awakening asks of you: how the condition checklist works, and the full rune ladder from AW III to AW VIII.
Every Awakening unlocks after you complete a checklist of conditions shown on the Awakening screen. Most combat and Sanctum conditions are deltas — they count progress made SINCE your previous Awakening, so a fresh Awakening starts them at zero. Collection-style conditions (runes, crafted items, lifetime kills) keep counting forever. The Awakening screen always shows your live numbers and the exact targets for your next step.
What the checklists are made of
- Combat: boss kills and specific enemy-type kills since your last Awakening
- Sanctum: ritual growth earned since your last Awakening
- Crafting: equipment of a given rarity and artifacts crafted
- Companions: companions at maximum training
- Campaign: chapters completed and qualified runs
- Runes: the rune ladder below — the long-term diamond investment of the mid game
The rune ladder (AW III → AW VIII)
- AW III: level your runes to 560 of their 700 combined maximum (about 80%)
- AW IV: max out every rune — this also unlocks rune ascension
- AW V: 3 runes at Tier II
- AW VI: 8 Tier II and 2 Tier III ascensions (lifetime)
- AW VII: 5 runes at Tier III
- AW VIII: 8 runes at Tier III
Plan your diamonds ahead: Tier II costs 500 diamonds per rune and Tier III 1200 more, and the ladder runs all the way to AW VIII. Ascended tiers now also multiply the main bonus of the rune, so every step is real power — not just a checkbox.
