Sparkburst
How the crit-triggered fire blast works, why you see an explosion instead of a projectile, and what damage class it deals.

How it triggers
Every critical bullet hit rolls the proc chance. On success a free explosion goes off at the struck enemy's position — no power needs to be equipped.
Chance and damage
| Chance per crit | Blast damage (% of the critical shot) | Splash radius (px) | Splash at radius edge (% of blast damage) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25% | 50% | 40 | 50% |
Blast, not projectile
The blast forms right on the crit target and detonates on it almost instantly — you see an explosion at the crit point rather than a flying projectile. It only travels onward when the crit killed its target; then it moves right until it reaches the next enemy.
What counts
- Only critical bullet hits can trigger it — melee, powers and effects cannot
- The blast is power-class damage: it damages enemies immune to ranged attacks (e.g. Golem)
- The enemy the blast detonates on takes the full blast damage; bosses additionally use your boss damage multiplier
- Other enemies inside the radius take splash that falls off linearly with distance, down to the edge value in the table
- Splash cannot trigger further Sparkburst procs, and there is no cooldown — every crit rolls independently
- The blast resolves as its own power hit — it can be dodged, and it does not carry your armor penetration
The proc can never start from a ranged-immune enemy: your bullets do not land on them, so they are never crit. The blast damages them only when it originates from a crit on a different enemy nearby.
