Rune Category Synergies
Equipped runes add their levels together by category; reach a threshold and a flat bonus switches on.
Every rune belongs to a category: Offense, Defense, Economy or Utility. The levels of your equipped runes in a category are added up, and each threshold in the table below switches on a flat bonus. Only equipped runes count, and no Awakening is needed.

| Category | Equipped levels | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Offense | 50 | +5% Crit |
| Offense | 100 | +10% DMG |

| Defense | 50 | +5% HP |
| Defense | 100 | +5% Shield |

Good to know
- The bonuses stack with the runes' own bonuses and with Ascension tiers
- Inscription levels count as rune levels here
- You start with 3 rune slots and can unlock up to 13; every active level on an equipped rune counts
- Once a category's top threshold is reached (Offense, Defense, Economy), its equipped Inscription levels add +2% damage, max HP or coins at 100, 200 and 400 levels and at every doubling after (see Rune Inscriptions); Utility has no Inscriptions
Fill the categories whose top threshold your slots can actually reach, instead of spreading runes thinly over all four.
