Merge and Salvage
Merge duplicates into stronger items; salvage the rest into Essence. Auto-salvage keeps your inventory clean.
Merging
Merging combines matching items into a stronger one, pushing item level and rarity upward. It is the main path to Epic and beyond when world rarity drops have not caught up yet. Merging up to a tier needs enough item level: Uncommon 200, Rare 2,000, Epic 4,000, Legendary 8,000 (Mythic is forge-only).
Merge ceiling by item level
How high you can merge an item is capped by its item level. Item level is wave + (world − 1) × 1000, so deeper waves and higher worlds drop gear you can push further up the rarity ladder.
| Item level | Max merge tier |
|---|---|
| 1–199 | Common |
| 200–1999 | Uncommon |
| 2000–3999 | Rare |
| 4000–7999 | Epic |
| 8000+ | Legendary |
Mythic is never merge-reachable — it only drops once you have Awakened.
Salvaging
Salvaging destroys an item for Essence, the currency that fuels equipment forge and upgrade flows. Anything you will never equip is Essence waiting to happen.
Auto-salvage (in settings of the Equipment screen) can scrap low rarities the moment they drop — set it once your average gear outgrows them.
